Intelius Date Check Video Demo

A few weeks ago, we were thrilled to get another call from Intelius, for which we had created a series of TV spots earlier this summer. This time, they asked us to create a demo for the upcoming release of Date Check, their new app for mobile phones, in time for the DEMOfall09 conference in San Diego.
The biggest challenge was the deadline. We had only a few weeks to write, record and produce the demo. The Lavalobe Media team immediately huddled and came up with a game plan that would give us enough time to create great work, while still allowing for feedback from the client.
The first thing we did was define the main message — Date Check empowers the user to make smart decisions on potential love interests – then write the script. From the first draft, we fell in love with the tagline “look up before you hook up,” which captured the exact message and tone we were looking for.
While the writer and client were tweaking the script, our art team was developing the look and feel for the piece. Two senior artists were assigned; one specializing in animation and motion graphics, and one focused on overall art direction. After a few rounds of revisions, we recorded the voiceover and handed everything over to our composer for custom music and audio sweetening – all in time to make the deadline.
The video was a huge hit, both at the show and with the press. Date Check was honored with the prestigious “DEMO God Award,” and will be featured in segments on Yahoo, CNN and FOX News, among others. Additional coverage includes:
